Course Description : Object Oriented Programming with C++ covers fundamental and advanced object-oriented concepts such as classes, objects, inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation, and abstraction. Students engage in a combination of lectures, laboratory sessions, and hands-on projects to apply these concepts effectively. Emphasis is placed on writing efficient and maintainable code, utilizing C++ features like templates, exception handling, and the Standard Template Library (STL). Practical activities include developing complex applications, debugging and testing programs, and collaborating on software development projects using integrated development environments (IDEs). Students will also learn to implement design patterns and best practices in software engineering.

Course Objective : This module aims to impart the basic management knowledge, and skills to the students so as to enhance their managerial capabilities and enable them to apply in the practical field

Course Contents:

Unit 1. Concept of Object Oriented Programming 3 Hrs.

Programming Languages and Software Crisis, Procedure Vs Object Oriented Programming Language, Feature of Object Oriented Programming, Popular Object Oriented Programming Language and features, Advantage and Disadvantage of OOPs, Introduction of C++ and Compilers, Programming Structure in C++, Comparison on C and C++, Additional Data types, token in C++, Insertion and Extraction Operators.

Unit 2. Object and Class 3 Hrs.

Concept of Object and Class, Define Data Member and Member Function, Create object and access Member Function, Making outer function inline, Array within Class, Array of Objects, 2.7 Static Data Member and Static Function, Friends Functions, Concept of Constructor and Destructor, Empty, Parameterized and Copy constructor, Define Destructor.

Unit 3. Operator Overloading 3 Hrs.

Concept of Operator Overloading, Defining Operator Overloading, Rules of Operating Overloading, Unary Operator Overloading, Return types in overloading function, Bin,,ary Operator Overloading, Manipulation String using Operator Overloading, New and Delete Operator Overloading, Data Conversion.

Unit 4. Inheritance 3 Hrs.

Concept of Inheritance, Base and Derived Class, Private, Public and Protected Specifier, Derived class declaration, Member function overriding, Single, Multiple, multilevel and hybrid Inheritance, Ambiguity problems in inheritance, Constructor in Derived Class, Extending operator overloading in derived class.

Unit 5. Virtual Function and Polymorphism 3 Hrs.

Concept of Pointer, Need of virtual function, Definition of Virtual Function, Pure Virtual function, Abstract Class, Container class.

Unit 6. Template and Exception Handling 3 Hrs.

Concept of Template, Function overloading and problems, Function Template, Overloading function template, Class Template, Derived class template
Concept of error handling, Basic of exception handling, Exception handling mechanism: throw, catch and try.

Unit 7. Object Oriented System Development 3 Hrs.

Procedure oriented paradigms, Procedure oriented development Tools Object Oriented Paradigms, Object-Oriented Programming as a New Paradigm,
Computation as Simulation, Coping with Complexity’s, Reusable Software, Object-Oriented analysis and Design.

Unit 8. Project 3 Hrs.

Develop simple Application using (6) C++ with the feature of class, object, inheritance, polymorphism and encapsulation.
